My Mother Was Right….Dammit

My Mother told me so…and she was right.  I should of slept.  Lucas has had a really bad cold and neither of us has been sleeping well at all the last four nights.  My Mother lives nearby, so I decided to pack us up for the day and head to her house so she could watch the baby and I could finally get some much needed sleep.  I packed up my laptop, diaper bag with provisions, the baby, stroller, my purse, and the Three B’s…binkie – blankie – and baba.  You would think I was an early settler heading west with the wagon train, except I always feel less like a pioneer woman and more like the pack mule.  We headed out and got to my Mom’s and she did indeed watch the baby.  Except you know what that means when someone watches your baby. 

HURRY UP AND GET STUFF DONE!! 

Like some crazed rabid dog I attacked this computer, I practically chewed off the corner.  I had so many emails to write, phone calls to return, and things to do for both my husband’s business and this website. I also threw in a doctor’s appt. for the baby just to make sure it was nothing worse than a cold.  It wasn’t. 

As my Mom saw me madly working away on the computer and the foam start to drool out of my mouth she gently suggested I turn off the computer and get some sleep.  “Uh-huh”, was my half assed response.  “You know if you keep pushing yourself like this you ARE going to get sick, you are going to get a sore throat.  You always get a sore throat, ever since you were a child. ”  My throat was already hurting, but like any rebellious teenager,  person I ignored it and my Mother.  Finally she got to me, I turned off the computer “for just a minute” and slept for two hours. 

See no problem. 

Except that was yesterday. 

Today I woke up with a sore throat!  Crap.  It feels like someone is using my throat to store their razor blades.  OUCH!  My Mother was right, I should of slept.  So on that note, I am turning off this computer, and getting some much needed sleep….wait…I think the dryer just finished….and is that the baby, I think he just woke up.
